LGBTQ Reads is a site dedicated to promoting curated LGBTQIAP+ literature for all ages.

​

-LGBTQ+ Inclusive Schools Booklist for Middle School.  Most, if not all, of these books are in our U-32 Library.  We are reading them and would love to see our teachers reading them too!

​

This is the information and data from the Trevor Project’s 2022 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health.

-What's So Bad About "That's So Gay"? is a lesson to explore the impact of this saying and how to empower students to express their opinions about bullying and other important issues.

 

 

High School:

 

Justice for the Cities:  “As LGBTQ+ Students, We Demand a Curriculum that Recognizes our History and Identities” is a powerful article written by two students passionate about fighting for an equal schooling system.

-Incorporating Queer History into US History - a very interesting podcast sure to inspire!

​

-LGBTQ+ History Booklist - what book or chapter from one of these books could you add to our lessons? We need to see ourselves in our history!

--LGBTQ+ Inclusive Schools Booklist for High School.  Make it a goal to read a book from this list.  When we see our teachers reading LGBTQ+ inclusive books, we feel affirmed and supported!

Gender-Inclusive Biology explores how using a gender-inclusive framework to adapt any biology lesson to be inclusive of diverse gender, sex, or sexuality.

-LGBTQ+ related resources and articles for science teachers to promote inclusion and celebrate LGBT Stem Day, an international day celebrating LGBT people in science, technology, engineering, and math.

​

-The article "How Do We Make Math Class More Inclusive of Trans and Non-Binary Identities" is a great starting point for ensuring math classes are sites for belonging and visibility.
